Meet Martiel

Martiel_snapshot_11Hi, I’m Martiel Beatty. I am a fiber artist, expert blogger, author of Blog Notes, and GIMP Wizard. I am the founder of Sewmantra and I started the Academy because when I began my creative, online business in 2011 I couldn’t find an affordable, knowledgeable and effective program that supported handmade, indie-artists.

I’ve built, consulted and mentored companies and individuals on their blogs, businesses, and websites since 2000. I’ve worked with people of all talents and skill levels and if there is anything that holds true for each and everyone of them it’s this: if you have the passion to make it happen and the attitude to match you can and will achieve what you want for your business.

I hold degrees in Anthropology, French, Drafting and Project Management. I have been working in fiber arts since 1986, graphics since 1998 and Social Media and Blogging since 2000. I work from my home studio just outside Washington, D.C. on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay.

She will teaching participants how to create a road map to their customers through her method called Customer Mapping When you follow her worksheet and instructions given in this seminar, you will develop a customer map for your perfect customer – the customer or person in your audience who is most interested in what you have to say and/or sell . Martiel’s Customer Mapping technique will teach you where to find your customer/audience online and off, how to engage them, and what to say when you do talk to them – the result is a document and plan you can fall back on again and again as you reach out to build relationships with your audience and customers.
